FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Well planning a Friday flyaway? Well, you'll need to get the lowdown here from our "Eye on the Sky" guy, Rally Caparas.
Good to see you.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Hi, Fredricka, it's great to see you.

WHITFIELD: How's it looking?

CAPARAS: You know what, it's been the worst week so far this year. Overall we've had more delays, folks, than we've seen the entire year almost put together. Lots of cancellations. Terrible conditions all week long in the east. Today things are going to change significantly for a lot of you, but not quite yet in the East Coast. Here's what's going to happen for you today. Excuse me.

New York City, Philadelphia and the D.C. Metro airports, you can count on some 30 to 45-minute arrival delays this morning. Low clouds and fog are the problem. Then later on this afternoon and evening, those delays will increase to about 45 to 60 minutes because of some p.m. thunderstorm activity developing around the East Coast. But it's going to get out of there pretty quick, so hopefully before we get to the evening rush it'll be gone. Don't count on it though, I'd count on more like 60-minute arrival/departure delays along the East Coast.

Atlanta Hartsfield this morning driving in you couldn't even see the buildings, the tops of the buildings. Low clouds and fog will create 30 to 45-minute arrival delays. Then later on, thunderstorm activity, mostly to the south of the city, is going to block routes into and out of Atlanta and that'll keep some of those delays going. Nothing major here in Atlanta, not like yesterday, but it'll be still a little bit slow.

Detroit and Cleveland in the Great Lakes region, the weather is moving out of there pretty rapidly, 30 to 45-minute arrival delays this morning, low clouds, rain and fog and then some en route thunderstorms to the east of them. It's going to be slow going if you're headed in to New York, Philly and Washington later, but the rest of the country from those airports should go pretty smoothly.

Houston's George Bush, delay free for most of the day. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms will create 30 to 45-minute arrival/departure delays.

And then on the West Coast, San Francisco and Los Angeles, they'll see some marine layer fog roll in, 30-minute arrival delays until about noon Pacific Time, then things should run smoothly thereafter. A much-improved day for a busy travel Friday.

I'll be back on Monday morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky." Fredricka, have a great weekend.

WHITFIELD: Hey, you too. So take a book, because you might be sitting in the terminal for a bit, huh, all these delays?

CAPARAS: Yes. Yes, a chapter or two.

WHITFIELD: Yes. All right, thanks a lot. Have a good weekend.

CAPARAS: You too.
