CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: If you're starting the work week at the airport, we're sorry. Rally Caparas is here to tell you about delays.
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Not nearly as sorry as we were last year. When we talked about it last week, folks, you were suffering two, three, four-hour delays, New York, Philly, Chicago. This week it looks like we're going to start out with a little bit better scenario. Let's talk about it.

If you're headed into or out of the major airports up in New York and Philadelphia this morning, you're likely to see some 30 to 45- minute arrival delays later this morning. Around 9:00 or so it'll start, some low clouds, possible rain and some fog. Poor visibility will be the problems. And then later on in the afternoon and evening, as usual, thunderstorms will start to break out, en route thunderstorms, not necessarily at the airports. They'll block some flight routes and keep those delays going. Nothing significant up there, but there will be some minor delays.

Atlanta and Charlotte this morning, 30 to 45-minute arrival delays are likely as low clouds and fog are a problem. Can't even see the tops of the buildings out here in the city. And then later on in the afternoon and evening, you guessed it, p.m. thunderstorms will block routes and it'll create continued delays there, as it will in Central Florida. Later this morning, low clouds, rain and fog will move in, en route thunderstorms, 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Again, on the East Coast, nothing really major today.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, delay free right now, but weather is moving in from the west. That means 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays later on this afternoon and evening. Once those thunderstorms brew or kick up, it'll create limited flight routes and, you guessed it, the -- it makes you stay in the air a little longer or on the ground a little longer.

Houston's George Bush, delay free morning, but later on in the evening hours, you'll start to see some of the outer bands of Claudette move in. Low clouds, some thunderstorm activity is likely. The Gulf routes, when you're flying to Florida and eastbound, it'll block some routes there. It'll create minor delays at Houston.

The western half of the United States, it's got to be really dry out there. I don't think I've seen any rain in the last couple of weeks.

COSTELLO: It's really dry out there. CAPARAS: I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky" -- Carol.

COSTELLO: All right. Rally Caparas, many thanks.

CAPARAS: Sure.
