CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: If you're heading to the airport though, stop for just a minute, because Rally -- he's putting on his microphone, so I'll just kill some time here.
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: I'm here.
COSTELLO: Rally Caparas is our "Eye on the Sky." He keeps track of flight delays. He's been looking over his computer notes for the past, what, two hours?
CAPARAS: At least.
COSTELLO: What's happening?
CAPARAS: Since last night.
Well not a whole lot happening right now, Carol. Great news, huh? It's been what, a couple of weeks worth of major delays in the northeast and the midwest and then hurricanes yesterday. Well guess what, today we're going to start out with excellent conditions all along the East Coast. Take a look at things.
New York City, Philly and Washington, delay-free starts, but later on this afternoon and evening there's still some moisture in the air up and down the East Coast. There'll be some firing of isolated thunderstorm activity, limited flight routes into and out of those major airports, mostly for routes going north and south. If you're going westbound, it should be unaffected. Thirty-minute arrival and departure delays. Very short delays there.
Down here in the South, Atlanta and Charlotte, delay-free starts here early also, but those thunderstorms will fire later on. Thirty to 45-minute arrival and departure delays as a result, mostly during the late evening hours during the evening rush period.
Tampa, Orlando and Miami, they're delay free early right now also, but the moisture is there and there will be isolated thunderstorm activity in the state of Florida, limited routes into all of the major airports down there, Tampa, Orlando and Miami in particular.
Cincinnati-Covington, they have very little visibility right now at the airport, about a mile and a half or so. That means 30-minute arrival -- 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Be gone by about 10:00 or 11:00 later on this morning. On-time schedules thereafter. Should be excellent conditions in the middle part of the United States all day.
San Francisco on the West Coast, there will be some marine layer fog roll in. It burns off by about noon Pacific Time and then things will run smoothly thereafter.
That tropical storm won't have any effect on air traffic today, good news.
I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky" -- Carol.
COSTELLO: All right. Thank you -- Rally.
CAPARAS: Sure.
