CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: If you're heading to the airport this morning, you might have some problems catching your plane on time. It's time to check in with our "Eye on the Sky" Travelocity's air traffic expert Rally Caparas.
Rally, how bad will it be?

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Well, Carol, you can bet on some major delays today. We saw some very, very long delays yesterday and today it's not going to be much different.

In the northeast, we're going to start the day out and there are no delays at the moment, but that will change here in just a little while. Expect 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays this morning. Still some thunderstorm activity to the west. It'll go away and then it'll fire back up later on this afternoon creating 60 to 90- minute arrival and departure delays. So a great day to sit in the terminals, watch the CNN airport network or grab a book, make some friends, some coffee. Stay patient, folks, it's going to be a long wait.

D.C. Metros and Charlotte, this morning, 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. And then later on, that's because of low clouds and fog. And then later on, the thunderstorm activity will create those similar delays, actually up to 45 to 60 minutes. So be ready there also.

Atlanta and Memphis, delay free right now, but later this morning we'll start to see some low clouds, rain and thunderstorm activity move into those two major metropolitan areas. That means 45 to 60- minute arrival and departure delays at both locations.

Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, not as bad as yesterday, but still, 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Morning, low clouds and fog, and then afternoon and evening, thunderstorms limiting flight routes throughout the entire eastern half of the U.S.

Chicago O'Hare, the weather will be nice there, but because of all the thunderstorms in the east, there will be 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays there. Limited routes will create a backlog of aircraft at the airport and that will build those delays to 30 to 45 minutes, folks.

And then on the West Coast, only San Francisco. It's going to stick around for most of the day today, 30 to 45-minute arrival delays, low clouds, marine layer fog. But even when -- once it burns away, there will be some strong gusting winds and those delays will continue into the late afternoon hours.

The rest of the west looks fine.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with hopefully a better "Eye on the Sky" report. Carol, back to you.

COSTELLO: Yes, we hope so. Rally Caparas, many thanks.
