CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Time now to check the newspaper ink overseas.
Our Liz George live in London with this morning's euro edition. And I suspect the killing of Saddam's sons is still front page news there.

LIZ GEORGE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Yes, unfortunately it very much is. It's definitely dominating all the headlines of all the very big broadsheet papers, the serious papers that we have here in Europe. And let me just show you "The Independent," one of those papers, which has got that headline up there. This is a report obviously coming through from Baghdad. It's been written by Robert Fisk surrounding that big photograph there, as well. And he's -- an opinion piece basically sort of saying that no Iraqi would doubt the truth if they had eventually seen Uday and Qusay emerging with their hands up. So he broached the subject of why they were killed and why they weren't actually taken alive.

"The Daily Telegraph," like a lot of the other broadsheets, again, is leading with that particular story, "U.S. To Show Gruesome Pictures of Saddam's Sons." It's written much more straight. It's not an opinion piece, that one. But, again, it broaches the issue of these pictures, if they are actually shown, whether they would prove so graphic that they would incite further attacks or whether they would lead to demoralize those people that are carrying out those attacks on the U.S. troops at the moment.

And, again, "The Herald Tribune," just to show you, it is, again, the front page lead story on "The Herald Tribune," as well. So right across Europe really being dominated by that.

If we move on, though, to some of our tabloid press, we've got different stories there, a mix of stories. And here you are. Here's "The Daily Mirror." We'll show it to you now. "Archer Sues for Jail Distress" is the headline there. And, of course, this is a story about a famous author, the novelist Jeffrey Archer. He was once an M.P., also a peer, as well. And he, of course, was sent to jail for four years.

Now, in that four years he was -- he spent time in five different jails and at one point he was in an open prison and he was able to spend time at home, as well, on home leave, during which time he actually went to a champagne party given by another former Conservative Party minister.

And he also had lunch with a prison officer. Now, that sparked the jail boxes, really, to criticize him say that they didn't want him swaning around. And so he was then put back into isolation and into a much tougher prison. And he's, now that he's out, he's been released, he was released on Monday, he's criticizing the prison bosses and he says that he is going to sue them for that jail distress that he suffered while he was in the isolation in that very tough prison. So there you are.

It doesn't end, the story with Jeffrey Archer, I don't think. It's going to be one that's going to go on and on.

COSTELLO: Oh, that's just crazy. And for those not in the know, an M.P. is a member of parliament, right? So he's a fallen member of parliament, went to jail for some bad stuff and now he wants to sue the prison because they didn't treat him kindly enough. That's very straight.

GEORGE: Absolutely. Because they didn't like him going and drinking champagne.

COSTELLO: No, I don't think many people would.

Tell us, you have an update on the streaker. We like that story.

GEORGE: Oh, yes, I have an update on the streaker for you, absolutely. Let me find that one. That's on the inside pages of "The Mirror" here and I'll show you the headline. It is, basically it's an apology that's coming through from this young, 17-year-old. The headline is "I'm A Silly Annus." And, of course, that is basically a pun. I'm not going to be too graphic about what the pun has to do with.

COSTELLO: I think we get it, Liz.

GEORGE: But it is a pun. Do you remember the queen, a few years ago, well, she made a speech a few years ago when she had had the furor at Windsor Palace and Diana and Charles had split up. And she made a speech and talked about her annus horriblis, which led to a lot of merriment with the headline writers at that point. So it's a pun on that.

But, anyway, this lad, who flashed at her at her queen's garden party, says I think he's been taken to task by his dad. His dad says that he's going to make him write a letter to the queen apologizing. The palace now says that the matter is closed.

COSTELLO: For displaying his naked body to the queen.

I'm sorry, Poshen bags (ph). We need an update.

GEORGE: And shouting "Wahey! (ph)"

COSTELLO: We need an update on Poshen bags before you have to go.

GEORGE: But, yes, of course, the other royal family that we have here in the U.K., the Beckinghams, if you like, they've got his and her jets. Let's go to another tabloid story. They love this. Following this sort of celebrity couple's sort of road to riches and their jet set lifestyle. And they were leaving by jet the other day and they had a jet each, basically. They'd been holidaying with Elton John and they had a jet each to take them to different places.

So, really, people just fascinated with their riches and their jet set lifestyle.

COSTELLO: Oh, and David Beckham (ph) is becoming increasingly popular here in the United States. So soon our own tabloids will have pictures like that.

Liz George, we could talk to you all morning long, but we must go.

Thanks so much.

GEORGE: Thank you.
