HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: We are going to move on to editorial cartoonist Mike Luckovich. We are going to see the results of his Quick Draw McGraw, as we call it. You chose...
MIKE LUCKOVICH, EDITORIAL CARTOONIST, "ATLANTA JOURNAL- CONSTITUTION": Is that what we call it, the Quick Draw McGraw? All right.

COLLINS: Anyway, I'm going with it. Mike is here with us this morning.

CHUCK ROBERTS, CNN ANCHOR: "Atlanta Journal-Constitution" Pulitzer Prize winner.

LUCKOVICH: Thank you.

COLLINS: It seems that you are.

ROBERTS: You can't open a "Time" or "Newsweek" without seeing one of your reprinted cartoons.

LUCKOVICH: That's nice of you to say. I appreciate it. It's a fun job.

COLLINS: In fact, we want to look at a few of them. We already know that the top story of the week, according to you, was the death of Saddam Hussein's sons. So we'll be looking at that cartoon in just a minute.

First tell us about this, Mike. These are a couple of cartoons that you did earlier.

LUCKOVICH: I guess in the last 24 hours we had five soldiers, American soldiers, killed. So I did this cartoon. It's a shooting gallery; the little ducks are U.S. troops. As they go around, one of them is saying to the others, "the good news is, we're being rotated."

That is just so sad. And they're trying to -- they're doing police force work, guarding children's hospitals, things like that, and things are not really trained to do, and it's just -- my heart goes out to the families.

ROBERTS: You did one on the deficit.

LUCKOVICH: On the deficit. You know, the deficit is not a sexy topic, but it's huge, this deficit. So I drew this huge deficit, and Bush is on the podium next to the deficit, and he's saying, "I got me some intelligence saying he ain't a threat." Kind of a take off on the old -- on all the intelligence we've been getting lately.

ROBERTS: See no evil.

LUCKOVICH: Exactly, exactly.

COLLINS: Now we want to get to the one that you actually did today.

LUCKOVICH: All right.

COLLINS: The death of Uday and Qusay.

LUCKOVICH: Now as we said earlier, corpse cartoons are not that easy. But if we could look at this one. Let's see. Where are we at here?

ROBERTS: You're right on it.

LUCKOVICH: OK. Excellent, excellent. OK. I've got the devil. I don't think I really need to label hell there, but I did anyways. And I've got some folks in hell. And the devil is pointing to Qusay and Uday, and he's telling the folks, "meet your personal trainers." That's what they'll be doing.

COLLINS: Yes. Something like that, I bet.

LUCKOVICH: Something like that, I imagine.

ROBERTS: Is that going to be in tomorrow's paper?

LUCKOVICH: No, this is my CNN deal.

COLLINS: This is exclusive.

LUCKOVICH: Exactly.

COLLINS: He's giving it to you.

LUCKOVICH: Chuck, I sat here and sweated to come up with this to draw...

ROBERTS: To heck with the paper, huh?

LUCKOVICH: Yes. No, this is the CNN deal.

ROBERTS: You're a franchise, my friend. It was great to see you.

LUCKOVICH: Chuck, good to see you. Heidi, take care.

ROBERTS: Look forward to seeing you again.

COLLINS: See you back here next Sunday. Thanks.

LUCKOVICH: Thank you.
