CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Are you planning a Friday flyaway? I hope you are going somewhere nice.
Travelocity's air traffic expert Rally Caparas is here to make your life easier.

Any delays this morning?

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: You bet. You can count on it. And if it's nice, it's not in the northeast today, folks. Chad showed you the weather. Here's how things are going to work for you today. It's going to be a very, very sluggish, that's optimistic, travel day for you to getaway Friday. Here's how it's going to break down.

New York City Metros and Philadelphia today, low clouds, fog, poor visibility this morning, isolated thunderstorm activity later on this afternoon and evening, 60-minute arrival and departure delays. Grab a cup of coffee, do a little bit of early, I don't know, Christmas shopping, something. Keep yourself occupied, it's going to be a little bit of a wait.

D.C. Metros and Charlotte, 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays the morning's because of low clouds and fog. Later on there will be isolated thunderstorm activity throughout the east, mostly on the coast, blocking flight routes, making things tough for folks here.

Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports down in the state of Florida, as usual, delay free early. Then there will be some late afternoon, early evening thunderstorm activity. Thirty to 45-minute arrival and departure delays as a result.

Detroit, Cleveland and Cincinnati-Covington up around the Great Lakes region, they'll see some fog this morning. You saw one of the live shots from Chad, if you were watching a half hour ago or so. Thirty to 45-minute arrival delays in the morning because of low clouds and fog. And then the afternoon and evening thunderstorms really move in from the west and that's going to block flight routes. You will see those delays also in the evening.

Chicago and St. Louis, 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Could go to 60-minute arrival and departure delays. They are both very busy airports. Off and on all day long thunderstorm activity, low clouds, poor visibility and rain are the reasons there.

And then out west, not a whole lot going on. A little bit of rain in Phoenix, nothing to bother the airport flow there. San Francisco International, they'll see 30 to 45-minute arrival delays once again. Marine layer fog rolls in. Gone by noon Pacific Time. On-time schedules thereafter. You know that scenario.

Have a good weekend. I'll be back on Monday morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky" -- Carol.

COSTELLO: We appreciate it. Thank you -- Rally.

CAPARAS: Sure.
