ANDERSON COOPER, CNN ANCHOR: Final I tonight getting you to watch more television. According to "The New York Times," NBC has come with a new way to keep viewers glued to the tube. The idea is simple. Many mini movies. Tiny movies that will run in 30 second chunks in between commercials during regular programing. This is a picture from one of the movies. It's called "Pussy Cat Dolls." I don't know what the plot is, but I suspect that "Pussy Cat Dolls" is more character driven. NBC, hopes -- all right guys, you can stop showing the Pussy Cats. NBC hopes the visual stimulation -- guys hello. Really, lose the picture of the Pussy Cats. Thank you. Clearly, NBC hopes the visual stimulation will keep you from changing the channels, and maybe they are on to something. Network news has been suffering from declining viewership for years. Perhaps the answer is mini movies.
Peter Jennings, he's a great news man, but with mini movies, "World News Tonight," might just get back to number one. Heck it's just not network news show that might benefit, network drama's might get a boost as well.

"The Practice" used to be a big hit. Hey, with mini-movies it might be again.

Of course, we won't stoop so low no matter how great the mini- movie is. I don't care if it's a shot of a baboon riding on hippo. Actually, it is pretty compelling. That wraps up the first hour of LIVE FROM THE HEADLINES.
