CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: To check on what's making headlines overseas in this morning's Euro Edition, let's travel to London now and Hala Gorani -- good morning, Hala.
HALA GORANI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Carol.

Well, on the front pages of many of the broadsheets, the so- called quality dailies, as the "Daily Telegraph" calls itself, we have the sentencing, or, rather, the real IRA head has been found guilty. And one of the things the real IRA, the branch that is continuing the violent struggle against British rule in Northern Ireland, is accused of is being accused of the Omah bombing that killed 28 people. And this individual, Michael McKevitt, who was found guilty of heading the real IRA, was sentenced thanks to some of the testimony of an American citizen who said that he befriended Michael McKevitt and was able to infiltrate some of the real IRA network. As a result, this Michael McKevitt was sentenced yesterday and we're awaiting the verdict today some time.

Now, as you were saying earlier on, the heat still an issue across Europe and in London the very serious "Guardian" newspaper conducted an experiment. It said, you know when you say it's hot enough to boil an egg on a car bonnet? Well, the "Guardian" said let's try it. So they broke an egg, spilled it on a car bonnet and it did not boil at all. In fact, it kind of ran down on the car hood.

What they did do then is that they said well, it's much hotter at Heathrow Terminal One. Let's go there. They went to Heathrow Terminal One. After three hours on an unsheltered pavement, it was declared perfectly cooked, the egg, by a security guard.

COSTELLO: See.

GORANI: So I don't know how much they pay those security guards, but they earn every penny supervising "Guardian" egg cooking experiments.

COSTELLO: Exactly. And it's nice to know that Britons conducted cheesy experiments like we do back in the United States when it's hot.

GORANI: No, but this is absolutely on the front page of the "Guardian." This is one of our serious newspapers. So it was quite interesting.

And on the front page of the "Times," as well, talking about health, a health warning to Atkins dieters. According to scientists, they're saying all of those on high protein/low carb diets, be very careful because it takes many more calories to metabolize protein. Those calories could be better used cooling off your body. So it's quite dangerous, especially if you're in a hot environment. You might end up passing out in the tube or on the metro and that kind of thing.

And a quick little word there on the cloned horse. Italian scientists have cloned a horse, "My Little Clonie," the "Sun" tabloid, very well known for its puns, on the first page -- "DNA Horse's Mum Sister." In other words, the horse gave birth to its twin sister. And some saying that perhaps some race horses will be able to be cloned, although that's perhaps against the rules -- Carol, a quick look at the headlines on this side of the Atlantic -- back to you.

COSTELLO: Oh, we appreciate it and we needed to smile this morning.

Hala Gorani live from London.
