HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: GM is rolling out some new Chevy models. Andy Serwer is "Minding Your Business" this morning.
They're pretty funky.

ANDY SERWER, "FORTUNE" MAGAZINE: Yes, they are, Heidi. Good morning to you.

Chevy going squarely at Ford trying to overtake them to become the No. 1 automaker in the land. Nine new models coming out over the next 20 months, and some of them with a real retro flavor. We've got a picture of them. These are really interesting. They're sort of modeled after the 1949 Chevy Suburban.

Let me explain this photograph here, this drawing. On the right is the 1949 Chevy Suburban. Then in the middle is a new vehicle that Chevy is rolling out called the HHR, which is a crossover vehicle. It's kind of like the PT Cruiser. On the far left is the SSR, which is a sports car. That's going to be about $40,000, pretty expensive.

But the HHR is this new family vehicle that Chevy is really banking on to roll out and to really try to compete against Japanese and other foreign car makers. You know, when you think about the U.S. manufacturers -- Ford and GM -- you really think these days about trucks, SUVs and minivans with Chrysler, and you think about the Japanese really owning the sedan market. Chevy really hopes these new models will help them get back in the game.

COLLINS: We'll have to see.

SERWER: Yes. A couple of years out, though.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: (UNINTELLIGIBLE) turning heads, I can tell you.

SERWER: Yes, it will.

COLLINS: Thanks, Andy.

SERWER: Yes.

HARRIS: Thanks, Andy.

SERWER: OK.
