CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: I've got your back -- it's just one duty for U.S. troops in Liberia. Two hundred more are now ashore to watch over West African peacekeepers and to get aid to thousands of desperate people.
Live to Monrovia, Liberia, and Jeff Koinange.

Jeff -- what's happening there now?

JEFF KOINANGE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Carol, moments ago, these helicopters just dropped off the hardware. First, it was the troops. Now, it's the Humvees. They just dropped them off, and more troops are about to get off the helicopters.

This impressive show of force, as the U.S. finally gets some boots on the ground. They're showing their commitment to this Liberian crisis, and Liberians are celebrating. You see them on the tarmac, on the runway. They're so happy to see the Americans, especially with the West Africans. Now, it's the American boots on the ground. It looks like the show of force is truly impressive -- Carol.

COSTELLO: Jeff Koinange reporting live from Monrovia, Liberia. You can see how happy the people are that more U.S. Marines have come ashore.
