CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Pack your passport. We're trying something new this morning. Many of you who watch DAYBREAK fly overseas on business or for pleasure.
Our Jenny Harrison is here with the travel forecast for those of you heading to Europe.
Welcome.
JENNY HARRISON, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Thank you very much.
COSTELLO: We appreciate it.
HARRISON: I'm delighted to be here.
COSTELLO: Oh, we appreciate it so much.
So, tell us.
HARRISON: Well, I'll tell you one thing, I couldn't have a better week to start this. You've been talking about the heat wave in Europe and of course it's continuing. But it's continuing for the better. There is some cooler weather on offer, but it's going to be really rather nice in Europe this weekend.
COSTELLO: See, that's good news. If only we didn't have that shoulder fired missile thing to worry about.
HARRISON: Well, absolutely. But where I'm taking you to, you don't need to worry about that.
COSTELLO: OK.
HARRISON: In fact, let's head straight over and we can have a look at exactly what we have got on offer, as we head towards Europe. So, of course, the first thing you need to remember is, indeed, to pack that passport. It's easier said than done, of course, but let me show you, first of all, the weather conditions as we head towards this area.
Now, of course, you happened on that plane, you head towards Europe. There is actually some cloud through the central regions to the north, one big weather system. But it's a good weather system. It's the one which is bringing some slightly cooler air. But don't panic. Summer is still very much with us all across in Europe.
In fact, I have to tell you, it could not be better to visit London this weekend. The weather is absolutely perfect. Look at this, it's in the mid to high 70s, good clear skies and so perhaps a very good weekend to have a trip on the London Eye. And if you don't know what that is, remember, it's that huge big wheel on the South Bank. And, of course, you get wonderful panoramic views of London from the wheel.
And then from there to Amsterdam. Again, temperatures pretty warm by Sunday, 77 degrees Celsius is the high temperature. So, again, very nice, indeed, to be strolling along the cobbled streets. And then, of course, to Paris. Now, it is going to be cooling off a little bit over the next couple of days because, of course, temperatures in Paris have been way over 100 degrees for the last few days.
And as you can see, heading into the weekend, lots of sunshine. It will be dry. And, again, looking and feeling pretty nice. So, again, definitely take that trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower. There's good, clear skies.
And then to Prague. Again, we've got glorious sunny skies, temperatures in the high 70s. I mean it really could not get much better than this, let me promise you. Summer is not always like this, of course, across in Europe.
However, a word of warning if you're heading to Rome because we really are going to see those temperatures once again over 100 degrees Celsius. Now, you might be used to that, but let me tell you, when you're heading to Italy, many of the hotels, perhaps not, but many little cafes and restaurants and bistros perhaps don't have that air conditioning. But even so, obviously worth a trip.
And then finally into Athens. Again, glorious sunny skies, those sunny skies that are across the whole of the Mediterranean.
So I think you'll see that there's some very nice places to go this weekend and certainly the weather is definitely on your side, Carol.
Where do you think you'd like to head, seeing all those cities?
COSTELLO: Well, I was going to say Rome, but it's 108 degrees there. So I don't think so.
HARRISON: Absolutely. Yes, I believe the hottest place. But glorious weather nonetheless.
COSTELLO: Definitely so.
And thank you for joining us.
Jenny Harrison.
