DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's bring in two of our regulars here, Jeff Greenfield and Andy Borowitz. Amazing here being on the streets of New York City on a morning.
BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Just stumbling along.

ANDY BOROWITZ, "THE NEW YORKER": We were just at "The Lion King" last night and thought we'd stroll over and see how you guys were doing.

HEMMER: Circle of life.

BOROWITZ: Absolutely. This is crazy.

DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: What's your take on this whole power outage?

BOROWITZ: I think we're doing very well. People are being very nice. Although I got to say last night I was listening to my radio and the president came on, and he said that they're working on the power problems and power would be restored shortly, and I thought, yes, that's what you told Basra. So I don't know, I was a little taken by that. But I am seeing some lights coming back on, so that's good.

KAGAN: And Jeff you've been taken about the spirit of not just this city, but the city that you call your city.

JEFF GREENFIELD, CNN SR. ANALYST: I love the fact that the Transit Authority dispatchers were working on the buses, when I was walking down here, a couple hours ago. There was just such a sense of everybody understanding the need to calm, keep people calm. It's OK, he was telling people, get on the bus, it won't leave as fast as you want it to, but it will be free and take it easy.

The fact is, that there were so many people this morning waiting for buses that I walked down here and I beat the bus. Now that sometimes happens around 5:00 in New York, but it wasn't there was traffic. Buses were stopping, picking people up. And I just got to say just watching all the people here who spent the night, you know, I remember stories, I'm not this old, during the Depression, people would sleep in Central Park and Morningside, and people were kind of finding out what they could do. And there is a sense here that because the power's back on, there's a kind of okay, it's the blitz without the bombs. We got to pull together, and it's been great to see it.

KAGAN: Absolutely.

BOROWITZ: I just want to say that my parents are in Cleveland, and I just want to urge them to remain calm and not riot, because I'm concerned about them. They can get a little hot-headed.

HEMMER: They'll have to boil their water, too. The mayor was on just a few moments ago, saying the situation is not over yet.

KAGAN: You've board about the Borowitzs of Cleveland, though. They're a wild, wild family.

BOROWITZ: Although one positive thing I heard this morning, there's been absolutely no looting of Madonna's new CD, which I think is great.

HEMMER: Not much demand.

KAGAN: And on that note.

HEMMER: Thanks, Andy. Thanks, Jeff. We'll talk with you.
