FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: We're shifting the focus now to the new Iraq. Suspected acts of sabotage, like this oil pipeline fire near Mosul, are slowing the country's recovery.
The U.S. military says it was a tragic mistake that a Reuters cameraman was shot and killed by an American soldier.

And what a face. U.S. troops in Saddam Hussein's hometown give the deposed leader a new look. They say it's a message to the people there Saddam is not coming back.

Let's go live now to Iraq and check in with our Baghdad bureau chief, Jane Arraf, with more on those developments -- Jane.

JANE ARRAF, CNN BAGHDAD BUREAU CHIEF: Fredricka, the colleagues of that cameraman killed while trying to film Abu Ghraib prison are preparing to send his body home. Now, he's from the Palestinian city of Hebron, and he was an award-winning and very experienced cameraman.

The U.S. Army says it's investigating that incident in which he was shot apparently in the chest while he was filming. Now, it says that a soldier on a tank, the tank that he filmed just before he was killed, apparently mistook his camera for a rocket-propelled grenade launcher and opened fire. The Army says it is continuing to investigate that incident to find out exactly why that happened -- Fredricka.

WHITFIELD: Jane Arraf, thanks very much in Baghdad.
