MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: A former U.S. Marine has been extradited from Germany to Britain. Toby Studabaker will stand trial for the alleged Internet abduction of a 12-year-old.
Reporter Colin Baker from ITV News has more on the case.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

COLIN BAKER, ITV NEWS CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): From the police station yard next door, Toby Studabaker made the walk through the (UNINTELLIGIBLE) tunnel and into magistrate's court next door.

He was in Wigan having been flown in from Frankfurt yesterday. He did not contest the extradition order against him.

This is the last time Studabaker was in the north of England, captured on Manchester Airport security cameras in July. He left the country the same say with a juvenile girl. He was arrested in Germany a few days later.

Studabaker, who is from North Carolina, is a former U.S. Marine.

(on camera): Toby Studabaker, whose age was given as 32, came into the Docking No. 1 (ph) Court, chained to a security officer. He spoke only a couple of times to confirm his name and his date of birth. He then sat down and remained silent for the rest of the proceeding.

(voice-over): Studabaker, who had been kept overnight in Wigan Police Station, was committed by the magistrate to (UNINTELLIGIBLE) Court next month.

Colin Baker, ITV News, Wigan.
