CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: And let's get serious, the Canadian government is telling travelers no smiling on their passport photos. It's supposed to be easier for airport security to match the traveler with a neutral expression photo.
And we thought it was the British with the stiff upper lip -- Jenny.

JENNY HARRISON, CNN CORRESPONDENT: That's a bit harsh, isn't it, so early in the morning? That's a bit harsh.

COSTELLO: Hi, Jenny, how are you?

HARRISON: I'm all right, thank you, Carol. How are you?

COSTELLO: But you just said that the English -- the British government says no smiling on passport photos.

HARRISON: Well a few years ago, I can't say how long ago because I'd give too much away, but I remember having my first passport photo taken and yes, you had to be very serious, stiff upper lip.

COSTELLO: Why can't they just ask you to smile when you go through the line at airport security and compare?

HARRISON: You're right, very good idea. You've missed your vocation, airport immigration.

COSTELLO: Exactly. Of course Jenny is here for all of you travelers flying overseas to tell you what to expect in Europe.

HARRISON: We have got a real mix of weather, let me tell you. Today in Europe, there's some snow expected.

COSTELLO: Wow!

HARRISON: It's in August, snow. It's well to the north. It's in Scandinavia. I doubt very much it's somewhere you'll be heading to, but let's have a look instead and see exactly what weather we have indeed got in store.

So you're heading to the airport, you've got your passport photo. Hopefully it's a nice smiling photograph. And then, of course, we're heading a little bit further afield.

Now as I say, we have got some snow really high elevations in Norway and Sweden today, but there's a fair amount of weather, as you can see. Quite a bit of cloud heading on through central western areas of Europe, but the sunny skies, they are still there. They are further to the south across the Mediterranean.

And let me show you in London for the next few days, it is actually rather mixed, cloudy and also a little bit cooler by the time we get to Sunday. Dublin, a very popular destination, a beautiful part of course of Ireland, and we've got some pretty nice weather there, a little bit cooler, still, but cloudy skies certainly on Sunday. Of course the overnight lows a little bit cool as well. Then to Vienna, again, and rather a mix and pieces berg (ph), a beautiful city despite the fact we will be seeing some showers on Saturday and Sunday.

And then finally, if it really is the sunshine you are after, there are still some areas you can head to. Far to the south across the Mediterranean, first of all, Palermo in Sicily, look at that, temperatures still around 100 degrees. And in Sofia, Bulgaria, again, we might see some relief on Sunday with one or two showers, but even so, temperatures well in the 90s.

So as long as you are not heading to the snowbound mountains of Norway and Sweden, I think you are still in for a pretty good summer vacation across in Europe -- Carol.

COSTELLO: Sounds good. Thanks a lot, Jenny.
