CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Are you planning a Friday flyaway? Our "Eye on the Sky," Travelocity's air traffic expert Rally Caparas is here to tell you he hopes you are flying in the morning.
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Gosh, you bet.

That kiss thing, isn't she old enough to be their mother?

COSTELLO: Stars.

CAPARAS: Well, anyway.

It's going to be a terrible day to fly later on today, folks. I hope that you are flying early, as Carol said. She's got company coming in and they are flying out this morning, so good for them. Out of New York down here, it's going to be an easy go; but it's going to turn into a very long wait for a lot of you later on this afternoon and evening. Let's take a look at it.

New York City Metros and Philadelphia, delay free at the moment. That will change later on this afternoon. About 5:00 p.m., you're going to start to see low clouds, rain and thunderstorms move into the area blocking routes to the west. Sixty to 90-minute arrival and departure delays as a result. Could be longer than that, keep your fingers crossed.

D.C. Metros further south, 45-minute arrival and departure delays off and on all day long starting very soon because of thunderstorm activity, low clouds and fog this morning.

Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports all see pretty decent conditions at the moment, but that's going to change. It's going to be off and on thunderstorm activity, seasonal type. Forty- five-minute arrival and departure delays as a result. Flight routes limited into and out of the entire state.

Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, they're going to see thunderstorm activity roll through the area in just about the entire day. Blocked routes east and west of them, airports are going to be hit by thunderstorm activity. Expect 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays.

Atlanta and Memphis, not so bad, 45-minute arrival and departure delays later on this afternoon as the rain and the thunderstorms build in the southeast. And then finally Chicago and St. Louis, you're going to see 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays. Low clouds, poor visibility this morning, then later on thunderstorm activity.

The west looks best once again.

Good luck, folks. I'll be back on Monday morning with the latest "Eye on the Sky" -- Carol.

COSTELLO: Well have a good Labor Day weekend.

CAPARAS: Thank you, you too.

COSTELLO: Thank you, Rally.
