CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: A lot of people heading home later today as the Labor Day holiday wraps up.
Let's check in with our "Eye on the Sky" Rally Caparas. Travelocity's Rally Caparas that is.

Good morning -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol.

Well Friday, our getaway day for this holiday weekend, was a tough one for many people in the northeast, if they traveled late in the day. And if you're trying to extend the holiday until later today, you're in for some bad news.

New York City, Philadelphia, they're all delay free early, but later on it will be a long wait once again. It will be about 60 to 90-minute arrival and departure delays. There will be low clouds, rain moving into the area up in the northeast along with some en route thunderstorms blocking routes. So expect some lengthy delays later on, folks. It's going to be a tough one.

The D.C. Metros, you're seeing 45-minute arrival and departure delays. It'll be morning low clouds and fog obstructing visibility. And then later on, those en route thunderstorms will block routes into and out of the eastern portion of the United States having those delays go on into the evening hours.

Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati-Covington will all see 45-minute arrival and departure delays. As you see on the map to the left, it's going to be under the clouds in that area for most of the day, then thunderstorms will erupt later on in the afternoon.

Chicago and St. Louis, as a result of those same storms, you'll see 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays. Poor visibility and some scattered thunderstorm activity will be problems there.

Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston, what's left of what was Tropical Storm Grace is still harassing the state. Expect 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Low clouds, rain, thunderstorm activity and limited flight routes the problem.

And then out west, only San Francisco once again will see the low clouds, marine layer fog. Should burn off by noon Pacific Time, but expect 30 to 45-minute arrival delays until that noon hour.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest "Eye on the Sky." Carol, have a great day.

COSTELLO: You too. Thank you, Rally.
