CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: It is a more turbulent day than is usual in Iraq -- a murdered cleric's funeral, a bombing at an Iraqi police station and an American Humvee under attack. Two soldiers are dead.
Let's take you live to Baghdad now and CNN's Rym Brahimi.

Tell us about this police station and the explosion there -- Rym.

RYM BRAHIMI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Carol, clearly no letup in the violence here. It's the fourth explosion in probably almost as many weeks.

Now, this police station is located in the central east of Baghdad. It's a police station that's not far from the police academy.

Now, a major from the police has told reporters that a car bomb exploded right by the police station, but there was a thick wall that was separating the police building from the car, and that's what prevented more casualties and maybe more serious damage from occurring there. It's not clear how many casualties there are for the time being, but the police major said that there was at least one person that was seriously injured.

Now, some journalists at the scene say that they saw four or five people being carried out. They seemed to be injured. They also say that four cars around the car that exploded were severely damaged.

The area for now has been cordoned off, Carol. Iraqi police, of course, is at the scene, as well as U.S. troops, and there are a few fire engines there as well -- Carol.

COSTELLO: And, of course, it's too early to tell who is responsible for this, Rym.

BRAHIMI: Yes, for the time being, there is really no clue as to who would have been behind this attack. But, of course, it is significant that since the beginning of all of this, there has almost been one attack after the other. It started with the Jordanian embassy bombing on August the 7th, and August 19 the U.N. bombing, just on Friday the massive bombing in Najaf that killed 83 people and wounded a couple of hundred others, and now this car bomb.

So, it's not clear is this a trend? Is this people sort of jumping on the bandwagon, maybe taking advantage of the current situation? We'll have to find out later when the investigation comes up with answers -- Carol.

COSTELLO: All right, Rym Brahimi reporting live from Baghdad this morning.
