CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Oh, talking about debates, it's time for your daily dose of California politics. The recall election just 35 days away now. There are so many candidates, 135, but so little time to get to know them. Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger says he'll take part in only one debate.
CNN's Rusty Dornin asked Schwarzenegger about that in Sacramento.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

RUSTY DORNIN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Reporters always have a lot of questions for Arnold Schwarzenegger. The answers always seem to be given on the run. When we caught up with him here at the California State Fair in Sacramento, we asked him about the reason why he was going to miss the debate this week with the other major recall candidates. Schwarzenegger says he's saving himself for just one.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER (R), CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR CANDIDATE: Well, I'm looking forward to the debates. It's going to be great for the California broadcasters, yes. It's going to be a fantastic debate.

DORNIN: Are you not going to do any of the other debates, sir?

SCHWARZENEGGER: We are going to do one great debate where we all can bring out all the different issues, in fact.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

DORNIN: Schwarzenegger is already receiving some criticism from the other candidates about not attending the other debates. Later on his tour inside the fair, he said the press and the public is going to get sick of hearing him talk, talk, talk about the issues.

Rusty Dornin, CNN, Sacramento, California.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

COSTELLO: So mark your calendar, the first debate is set for tomorrow. Election day, of course, October 7.
