FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Well we know that the rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain or something like that, but what about the forecast for the rest of Europe? We know there has been a lot of heat in France. Maybe things will cool down a little bit.
Well, Jenny is here to give us an idea of what, you know, the weather is overseas for those of us who are lucky enough to go this weekend maybe.

JENNY HARRISON, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Absolutely, if you've got the inclination, the money and the time, exactly. No, actually the things are looking pretty nice. I mean there's no doubt about it that summer is beginning to draw to a bit of a close.

WHITFIELD: OK that's good maybe.

HARRISON: But that doesn't mean to say -- maybe -- but that doesn't mean to say there's no sunshine. And in fact, talking of heat is the eastern end of the Mediterranean really where the heat is. So let me show you exactly what you have got to look forward to if indeed you are heading in that general direction in the next few days, as I say, if you've got the time, the money and the inclination. You could do a lot worse and have you wait for a few days.

Now then, there is actually some weather to be found across Europe. And by that I mean you might want to start thinking about taking a slightly bigger suitcase with you to get a few more layers of clothing in.

Central regions, we are seeing some very nice sunshine, but there's also cloud all the way around that area of high pressure. And in fact, there are one or two showers. Now you'll also notice week on week that those temperatures really are beginning to fall. But even so, pretty good start to the weekend in London. But it's going to be rather cloudy and wet on Friday. Then it's the case of a couple of days of sunshine in the mix.

And then across to Brussels of course in Belgium, they've got a glorious day on Friday. And then we'll see more cloud basically developing as we head through the weekend.

And from there of course we have to head to Paris. Again, the same as London really. We've got rain on Friday, not a bad weekend. And perhaps one of the warmer spots in Bordeaux again. A bit of a mix of weather, as you can see the rain there pushing in on Sunday.

And then finally we head across to Venice and to Valencia in Spain. And this is where if you really want some late summer heat, I would suggest you head further to the south to the Mediterranean and that is really going to be your best bet for some summer sunshine this early in September.

And of course I'll be back, hopefully, next week with "Pack Your Passport."

And, Fredricka, I do want to say that of course if anybody out there has got a specific city in mind, they can drop you a line DAYBREAK@CNN.com.

WHITFIELD: That's a great idea for those who are deciding to venture across the seas a little bit for a little weekend getaway for pleasure or business.

HARRISON: Absolutely, either.

WHITFIELD: All right, Jenny, thanks very much.
