DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: There seems to be a developing story coming out of Boston concerning a possible agreement on the church abuse scandal in Boston with the Catholic Church. Let's bring in our Boston bureau chief Dan Lothian with more on that -- Dan.
DAN LOTHIAN, CNN BOSTON BUREAU CHIEF: Well, Daryn, in what has been a complicated negotiation process with many twists and turns, a source who told CNN earlier this morning that an agreement had been reached, an $85 million agreement, now says, quote, "The leak has been laid faint."

Boston's archdiocese says as this point all parties are working toward an agreement but nothing at this point. Archbishop Sean O'Malley is in Washington, D.C., but he has played an important role in negotiations. In fact he took part in a secret meeting over the weekend. If things move forward it would mean some closure for some 542 alleged victims of clergy sexual abuse. Many of them have said all along that these cases are not about money, what they want is an apology and changes in the church.

Officials at the Catholic Church, at the archdiocese say they are hopeful that a deal can be done -- Daryn.

KAGAN: Dan Lothian in Boston, thank you. He'll be tracking that story for us.
