CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We've had a lot of breaking news this morning, sad breaking news. As we've told you, 71-year-old Johnny Cash has died. He died in a Nashville hospital overnight. He'd just returned from the hospital on Tuesday. He was suffering from some sort of stomach problem. But he had to go back to the hospital after being sent home and a hospital spokesperson just told us that he died of complications from diabetes.
Johnny Cash was 71 and we understand his family was with him when he died.

Also, more shocking news out of Los Angeles. John Ritter has died. Ritter is the star of the ABC series "Eight Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter." Ritter's publicist tells us his death was caused by an undetected flaw in his aorta. He collapsed while taping a show last night. He was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, where surgeons were unable to save him. Of course, Ritter was best known for his role as Jack Tripper on the long running sitcom "Three's Company." He would have turned 55 next week. His birthday was September 17. He's survived by his wife and four children.
