CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Let's check in with Rally Caparas, Travelocity's Air Traffic Expert, to check on flight delays.
That little 2-year-old, how did he reach the pedals?

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Interesting. Interesting. Interesting. Tough day today, already a tough start, huh?

COSTELLO: Yes.

CAPARAS: Bad news all around. And there will be some bad news for you all, nothing to compare to what you've heard about Johnny Cash and Mr. Ritter, but today, as far as flights are concerned, you will see some major delays.

Start up in the northeast today. Newark's Liberty Airport will continue to see runway construction through September the 28th. That leaves them with one long runway for the big jets to land on. That means 60 to 90-minute arrival and departure delays all day long. I'm sorry, just arrival delays. The departures will be on time leaving Newark. But going into Newark, almost two-hour delays. Be patient. There's going to be a lot of folks waiting around at your point of departure going to Newark today. It's going to be a long wait for most of you.

Philadelphia and the D.C. Metros, good conditions for most of the day. Then later on this afternoon and evening you'll start to see some 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Low clouds, rain and thunderstorm activity will be blocking routes there.

Chicago O'Hare and St. Louis, they'll be delay free for most of the day, then there will be some poor conditions. The weather starts to move a little bit eastward, just slowly, and that means 45-minute arrival and departure delays later on, en route thunderstorms blocking routes, poor visibility and rain.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, last three or four days they have seen some bad weather. Again, they'll see that to the tune of 45-minute arrival and departure delays. The low clouds, poor visibility, thunderstorm activity, you know the drill.

And then finally down in Texas, Houston will get nailed by thunderstorm activity for most of the day. Hopefully we'll see some clearing by the late p.m. But until then, expect 45-minute arrival and departure delays.

The rest of the country west of Houston looks fabulous.

I'll be back on Monday with the latest "Eye on the Sky" -- Carol.

COSTELLO: All right. Thank you, Rally, we appreciate it.

CAPARAS: Sure.
