CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Time now, though, to check on what's making headlines overseas in this morning's "Euro Edition." Becky Anderson live for us in London.
Good morning, Becky, what are the front pages saying?

BECKY ANDERSON, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Carol, good morning to you.

Well the headline on most of the papers today is a headline about the Swedish economy. This is Goran Persson, the Prime Minister of Sweden, and they say a week is a long time in politics. Well he's had a truly dreadful week. Last week, of course, his foreign minister was stabbed to death last Wednesday. And just yesterday, the Swedish voted. The land of just nine million people voted in favor of staying out of the euro.

Now the prime minister in Sweden had been voting for an adoption of the single European currency by Sweden. There are just three countries that remain outside of the euro, that's Sweden, Denmark and the U.K. And indeed the headline on "The Guardian" today, Blair Europe poll hopes dashed by the Swedes. Effectively 56 percent of Sweden, 81 percent of the population turned out to vote, 56 percent of the Swedish population said they didn't want to be part of the further integration of the European Union.

Now that's possibly because Europe's economies are doing fairly badly at present. But this really dashes hopes for the U.K., for example, and the Tony Blair government who were hoping for a referendum on the euro and for an adoption of the euro by the U.K. general public. Doesn't look as if that's going to come any time soon. So a bad week for the prime minister there in Sweden.

And also on the front page of "Le Beraso (ph)" in France today, nash (ph), the paper says, yesterday Sweden voted no to the euro. And "The Independent" also peering at the same story today, Swedes no deal, serious blow to the euro. The sense being that not only the no by the Swedes to the euro and the European economy at present but also not good news for that currency, which, after all, is such a new currency at present.

Also on the front page of "The Independent" today, a picture of Madonna. She's moved away, it appears, from being a singer, just for the time being at least. She's written a children's book. It's called "The English Roses." And she was out in force yesterday with her publicity machine in Kensington for the launch of that new book.

The other stories out there today, well a sad story, of course, you're headlining it today, Venus' sister shot dead. Row with three men in Alaida (ph) on the front page of "The Daily Mirror."

And surprise, surprise, J.Lo and Ben, apparently they have split. You can see it on the front of the "Daily Mirror" today.

COSTELLO: Isn't that shocking?

ANDERSON: Yes, absolutely, more shocking than anything else.

COSTELLO: You know that just stunned me this morning. I couldn't believe it when I heard it. Actually we heard it...

ANDERSON: Carol.

COSTELLO: ... involves a prenup that Jennifer wanted Bennifer to sign, but Bennifer didn't want to.

ANDERSON: Yes, Bennifer was that (ph).

COSTELLO: Thank you, Becky, we appreciate it.

ANDERSON: Well would you?

COSTELLO: No. Thanks, Becky.
