DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: First their movie flopped at the box office, then they postponed the wedding, and now there are reports that Ben and Jen are breaking up. According to "People" magazine, celebrity supercouple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have split, at least for now.
For the lowdown on J-Lo and Ben, we want to bring back Todd Gold of "People" magazine, and he is in L.A., where about 90 miles south from where the wedding was supposed to take place, the wedding that will not be for now.

Todd, what's "People" reporting on this.

TODD GOLD, "PEOPLE" MAGAZINE: Well, you know, obviously the wedding didn't take place. We're reporting from several sources that they split up, that, you know, they're definitely on a break. And, you know, who knows how long that break will be? You know, we could see them together again, but right, now they're definitely on a break.

KAGAN: I was going to say, who knows, this could be all a big ploy to throw the media -- yes, Leon's shaking his head.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: That's what I smell.

KAGAN: Leon's theory, they're trying to throw the media off, media like you, Todd.

GOLD: There have been so many rumors, wild rumors about doubles traveling everywhere from Miami to Kauai. But what really seems to be going on is this is a couple that called their wedding off a few days before it was scheduled to take place. They still have deep, genuine feelings for each other. They haven't yet had that moment that heart- to-heart talk where they say, this is over, but they have taken a break. It's still a volatile, fluid situation, you know, as anyone who's been in a breakup knows.

KAGAN: Absolutely. Well, Todd, thanks for sticking around to answer those couple questions. And good luck to "People" trying to figure out what it's all about.

GOLD: Thanks very much. You'll read about it in "People."
