CANDY CROWLEY, CNN SENIOR POLITICAL CORRESPONDENT: Here in California the recall candidates are moving full speed ahead despite a court ruling that the October election be delayed. CNN's Bob Franken is with me in Los Angeles. Bob, dare I ask what's on tap for today?
BOB FRANKEN, CNN NATIONAL CORRESPONDENT: Well, chances are it will be partly wrong, one way or the other.

We do know that one of the proponents of the recall who lost that appeals court ruling yesterday has already decided, Ted Costa has decided that he's going to appeal directly to the U.S. Supreme Court, try and get overturned. The highest court's going to have to decide if it wants to revisit the infamous Bush v. Gore decision.

The secretary of state, who's the really main player here, the one who would not be allowed to hold the election if this ruling was upheld, he's going to be deciding and announcing latter today what legal route he's going take. He could also go through the same appeals court.

So it's the usual legal mess. And so the candidates are continuing as if there's going to be an election. Governor Gray Davis is continuing to be associated with just about any national Democrat who comes to town. A little bit later today he's going to be appearing at an event with Senator Bob Graham, D for Democrat of Florida running for president.

Later in the day the same Governor Gray Davis will continue that fight with one of the top African-American officials in the United States, Jesse Jackson.

On the Republican side, Peter Ueberroth. Remember him? He was a candidate until last week. He's going have the meetings he said he was going have with other candidates, specifically with Tom McClintock and Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Republican candidates. Ueberroth and the 6 percent he brought to the polls is going decide where that 6 percent goes as far as his recommendation is concerned.

One possibility, however, Candy. He said he was getting out because he didn't have enough time. And nobody is saying that he might not get back in if he has still next March.

So, it another day in paradise -- Candy.

CROWLEY: Busy, busy, busy. Thanks, Bob.
