CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: OK, Travelocity's Air Traffic Expert Rally Caparas is here.
And you just told me some interesting information. If you have a flight this week,...

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: That's right.

COSTELLO: ... you can call the airline and they might be able to change your ticket.

CAPARAS: That's right, the calm before the storm, folks, take advantage of the time that the airlines are going to give you. If you are traveling between now and about the 21st through the 23rd of the month, the airlines are allowing you to reschedule. There are some limitations with that. Depending on your airline, reschedule and/or get a refund. I would suggest if you are traveling and you need to do it this weekend, you just, Carol, sorry, but just don't do it. It's not a smart maneuver.

COSTELLO: I know.

CAPARAS: Go ahead and do the reschedule or the refund, you'll be better off and you'll be glad you did.

There will be delays today not related to the storm. The delays will happen up in New York -- up at Newark airport, 60 to 90-minute arrival delays, as we've seen for the last few weeks. Single runway operation. Runway 4 Left, 22 Right is closed for construction. They are doing some amendments or some changes to that runway. It's one of the long ones. That means they only have one long runway. You're going to have plenty of delays in Newark today. I know you're used to it by now. Grab some coffee, make a friend, you know the drill. Newark's Liberty Airport, long delays.

Minneapolis-St. Paul and Chicago O'Hare, delay free for most of the day, then some strong gusting winds move in from the west. Doesn't bode well with the runway configurations there. Intersecting runways, land and hold short rules at Chicago O'Hare. You can expect 30 to 45-minute arrival delays at both of those airports later on today.

The rest of the country, you wouldn't know there was a hurricane. It's going to be beautiful for most of you.

There will be some additional volume because of the military jets that are taking off and scattering inland. So you can expect some en route delays, maybe 30 minutes or so extra time in the air.

I'll be back dark and early tomorrow, earlier than today, with the latest "Eye on the Sky." Give people a heads up on what is going to happen tomorrow morning.

COSTELLO: Yes. Yes, and we will appreciate that. Thank you -- Rally.

CAPARAS: You're welcome.
