BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Larry Suttles has a lot to lose if there's extensive damage on Topsail Beach, North Carolina. He's a property owner, and now he's trying to protect himself and that property. Larry's with us live in Topsail to talk about his preparations.
Good morning to you.

What are you doing right now, Larry, about 24 hours in advance?

LARRY SUTTLES, RESTAURANT OWNER: Moving boats, boarding up houses. Just happy it turns out everyone helps each other out down here through hurricanes. We're started to get used to these. We've had about five in the last four years. But it looks like we're going to miss this one, at least the brunt of it anyway.

HEMMER: What do you stand to lose?

SUTTLES: A business, and houses, just like everyone else on the island here.

HEMMER: You mentioned the frequency of the storms over the past four or five years. Does a sense of complacency ever enter into this argument as to whether or not you should stay or go?

SUTTLES: If you live close to the water, you just have to deal with all this.

HEMMER: What are your neighbors doing?

SUTTLES: Boarding up houses, moving boats, as we speak.

HEMMER: You mention that you don't...

SUTTLES: Looks like...

HEMMER: I apologize. You mention that you don't think you're going to bear the brunt of this storm. Why are you so confident when you speak like that, Larry?

SUTTLES: Listening to CNN news, and the Weather Channel.

HEMMER: Yes. Right now, as you look around, the sunshine is still out. How would you describe conditions around you?

SUTTLES: It looks great right now. But in a couple hours, things can really change. HEMMER: Have many people left, Larry?

SUTTLES: Yes. Yes, a lot of people left. Quite a few people left.

HEMMER: And you, what's your final decision? Staying or going?

SUTTLES: If I have to go, I'll go. But its just up to the Surf City Police and the town of Topsail Island.

HEMMER: Good luck to you, all right?

SUTTLES: Yes, thank you.

HEMMER: OK, Larry. We'll be pulling for you. Larry Suttles in Topsail Beach, a property owner, a business owner. We're pulling for you, 24 hours away.

SUTTLES: Thanks a lot.
