CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Now it's time, though, to check on what's making headlines overseas in this morning's "Euro Edition." Live to London now and Becky Anderson.
Good morning -- Becky.

BECKY ANDERSON, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Morning, Carol, thank you very much, indeed.

No real surprise about what makes the top story on most of the papers here in Europe today, front of "The Independent," it's one of the broad sheets here, waiting for Isabel. This article written by a British journalist working in Washington. And the objective of this article was, more than anything else, suggesting the preparedness of Americans for this storm. The surprise and his optimism, as it were, for those who had to survive what was going on in the eastern seaboard and still is going on in the eastern seaboard and of course in Washington. He was saying just how surprised he was by people's readiness for this storm.

One of the big stories this weekend in Europe will be the meeting between Schroeder, German Chancellor, French President Chirac and Tony Blair. Tony Blair on his way to Berlin to try and bridge the divide between Europe and America on the issue of Iraq. This after a meeting with Chirac and Schroeder where the decision was made to pump a lot more money into the infrastructure of Europe in order to try and get these flagging European economies going. Good luck to Tony Blair. A lot of people are saying it's going to be a really hard job to get the Germans, and particularly the French, on board with the Americans in their mission in Iraq -- Carol.

COSTELLO: All right, Becky Anderson, live from London, many thanks.
