HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: President Bush is preparing his new plea for help in Iraq before the U.N. General Assembly. Tuesday's speech is expected to be a call to action for the sake of Iraqis and the rest of the world.
CNN White House correspondent Dana Bash has a preview. Hello once again, Dana.

DANA BASH, CNN WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Heidi. And this time last year, when the president went before the U.N. General Assembly, he was beginning to make the case for war against Iraq. But on Tuesday, a year later, the president faces the United Nations, still smarting over the differences in that war.

There are many nations still quite upset that the president of the United States and Great Britain went to war over the opposition of many U.N. members. But it is a United Nations that the president needs at this point to help get more international support into Iraq for a postwar mission that is much more difficult than the White House had anticipated. So Mr. Bush will use the speech to say, regardless of past differences, he believes that in the interest of -- it is in the interest of all U.N. members to go in and help out in Iraq regardless of what has happened in the past -- Heidi.

COLLINS: All right. Dana Bash, thanks so much, coming to us from the White House this morning.
