CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's check in on our "Eye on the Sky." Travelocity's Air Traffic Expert Rally Caparas is on the telephone with the early word on flight delays.
How are things looking out there -- Rally?

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol. Well, things are looking fantastic in the east. All along the East Coast, it's going to be a very, very beautiful day.

However, at Newark's Liberty Airport, as we've seen for the last month or so, you can expect 45 to 60-minute arrival delays. There's a single runway operation. The runway construction project is continuing through September the 28th. So you can count on hour-long delays still going on into Newark's Liberty Airport.

The rest of the East Coast, though, looking fantastic, until you get all the way down to the southern tip of Florida. Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports already looking at thunderstorm activity. You can expect 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays as the low clouds and thunderstorms limit flight routes down to South Florida.

In the Great Lakes region, Detroit Wayne Metro Airport, delay- free start; but later on this afternoon and evening, you can count on 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays to be a problem. Low clouds, rain and thunderstorm activity will move into the area limiting flight routes, hence, you'll have those delays.

Chicago O'Hare Airport, delay free this morning, and it will stay that way until later on this afternoon, then we will see 45-minute arrival and departure delays. En route thunderstorms mostly to the south and east will block flight routes into and out of the airport from that direction. And then strong gusting winds will move in from the west and that hampers their land and hold short operation at the airport. So you can count on somewhere in the neighborhood of 45 to possibly even 60-minute arrival and departure delays.

And then finally all the way on the West Coast, San Francisco International will once again see marine layer fog roll in. Should be gone by about noon Pacific Time, but until then, expect 30 to 45- minute arrival delays.

Overall, a pretty good day for air travel. Carol, I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest "Eye on the Sky." Have a fantastic day.

LIN: You too, Rally, thanks for the early warning. TO ORDER A VIDEO OF THIS TRANSCRIPT, PLEASE CALL 800-CNN-NEWS OR USE OUR SECURE ONLINE ORDER FORM LOCATED AT www.fdch.com
