CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: And now let's check in with our "Eye on the Sky." Travelocity's Air Traffic Expert Rally Caparas is on the telephone with the early word on flight delays in case we're just heading out the door -- Rally.
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol.

Well, it looks like we're in store for another excellent day to fly throughout most of the country today. The New York City Metros and Philadelphia, they'll stay that way, delay free most of the day. Then later on this evening, right around 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, some thunderstorm activity is due to move into the region. Expect 45-minute arrival and departure delays. And like I said, it's going to be late this evening. Most of the evening rush would already be finished and so the delays should stay very short to moderate.

Newark's runway construction project that has caused hour-long delays for the last month or so is still under way. However, the runway is reopening around 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time each day until they complete the project completely. And that means that delays won't be a factor as far as that project is concerned, so great news for people headed into and out of Newark's Liberty Airport.

Charlotte-Douglas Airport this morning seeing some low fog, I'm sorry, low clouds and heavy fog. That means poor visibility and added time in the air for arriving aircraft. Expect 45-minute arrival delays as a result. Should burn off by 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time for on-time schedules thereafter.

Down in south Florida, Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports will stay delay free for most of the day as usual, but then low clouds and thunderstorm activity will build kind of seasonal thunderstorm activity that they are used to down there. Thirty to 45-minute arrival and departure delays during the late p.m. hours, but only short-term moderate delays.

And then you need to go all the way to the West Coast, nothing in the midsection of the country, beautiful weather for everybody. And then San Francisco will see 30 to 45-minute arrival delays this morning. Low clouds and marine layer fog rolls in once again. Should burn off by noon Pacific Time for on-time schedules thereafter.

Overall, Carol, just an excellent day nationwide for air travel. I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest "Eye on the Sky." Back to you.

LIN: All right, thanks, Rally. Thanks for the good news, and we'll see you tomorrow. Have a good day.
