CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: But time now for a little business bite. Remember Jared, the guy on the Subway commercials who says he lost hundreds of pounds from eating Subway subs? Well now he has got a message for kids.
Let's find out more on this story from Carrie Lee at the Nasdaq market site in New York.

Carrie, what could kids possibly learn from this guy except to eat sandwiches?

CARRIE LEE, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Well, you know Subway kind of jumping on the bandwagon, Carol, for healthier foods, Jared the pitchman. Subway now changing its children's meals for the chain. They have 19,000 restaurants worldwide. And according to "USA Today," on Monday, Subway is expected to announce a healthier kids pack and bringing back the infamous Jared to promote these meals.

Now Jared Fogle became a legend in fast food as well as in the advertising business. He is the guy who said he dropped from 495 pounds down to 190 pounds on a steady diet of Subway sandwiches.

Now Jared says he is very excited to be promoting the kid's ad. He also said in an interview -- quote -- "I wanted to speak with the kids about this for years. I was a huge kid growing up. I know how big kids feel."

So currently this kid's pack actually isn't as bad as some other chains. They are going to stick with the sandwich as the main component here, but they are going to switch from a soda, or a soft drink, rather, to fruit juice, which has less calories. Also, they are going to offer a fruit rollup for desert instead of a cookie. So lower calories here, too. As I said, they are expected to announce this change on Monday.

Other fast food chains have already jumped on this bandwagon. McDonald's launched apple dippers. Wendy's started offering fruit cups and milk. Subway always fairly healthy to begin with, or certainly healthier than some of these other names, but jumping on this bandwagon, Carol, just like everyone else.

LIN: All right, we'll get our fruit rollups out. Thanks, Carrie.
