ELIZABETH COHEN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Now here's a tip for feeling fit.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

CHRISTY FEIG, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): Light and nimble, quick and stealthy, they slide across and between each other in a frenzied yet graceful dialogue. They're inside the hoda, the ring in which they dance and fight. In this class, they're practicing capoeira, a Brazilian martial art with elements that might be new to people used to its Eastern counterpart.

COURTNEY CLAVERLE, CAPOEIRA INSTRUCTOR: Capoeira is a fusion of martial arts, dance, music and acrobatics.

FEIG: Capoeira has come a long way from when slaves practiced it in Brazil. Today, capoeira students are a diverse group with a reverence for the history of this martial art and they’ve found a great way to get in shape.
