CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: You're flying this morning, stay right there for just a second, Travelocity's Air Traffic Expert, Rally Caparas, live on the phone with us right now.
Good morning, Rally, any delays out there?
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol. Well, there was almost a delay for me to get out of bed today, it's freezing in this house. I put the air -- the fireplace on for the first time, so winter is officially on its way.
Anyway, from Boston all the way down to Atlanta on the East Coast, excellent conditions. On-time flight schedules all day and evening long, much like we saw yesterday.
Until you get down into Florida where Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, they'll face some sporadic thunderstorm activity, low clouds and rain all day long. That means 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays are likely. But like I said, it will be sporadic so don't count on those delays to mess up every flight.
Chicago O'Hare, they'll delay free this morning, but much like yesterday, some strong gusting winds will move into the area a little bit later and that will mean 45-minute arrival delays in the p.m. hours. Those winds force a less-than-favorable runway configuration and air traffic control is forced to reduce the hourly arrival flight handling capacity at the airport, hence, they distribute the delay amongst the airplanes equally. So you can count on delays there later.
And then finally on the West Coast, only San Francisco, once again, will see any delays. But today 45-minute arrival delays will last until about 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time as the marine layer fog rolls in. It shouldn't roll out until late this afternoon.
Outside of that, minimal weather delays nationwide. It's excellent for air travel today, Carol. Hopefully we'll see the same tomorrow. I'll be back in the morning with the latest "Eye on the Sky." Back to you.
COSTELLO: OK, bundle up in your house. Thank you, Rally, we appreciate it.
