CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We were just dreaming. It's time to "Pack Your Passport." Many of you fly overseas on business or for pleasure. We were thinking it would be nice to fly to Italy to be "Under the Tuscan Sun" with Diane Lane, with that beautiful Italian man and a beautiful home and...
JENNY HARRISON, CNN INTERNATIONAL WEATHER: Carol was thinking all of this, in case you are wondering. She's got quite carried away this morning. I think it's the cold weather over here in the United States is making us all think of warmer times, isn't it, going to work?

COSTELLO: Yes, that and more.

OK, take it away -- Jen.

HARRISON: All right. Let's get straight here today, because I tell you what, there's no doubt about it that winter is beginning to make its mark across many portions of Europe, as indeed it is here in the United States.

Let's head off, first of all, across to that satellite image. And I can show you that there is a lot of weather around, there's a lot of rain. For the most part, it is rain. Still some thunderstorms in the mix as well. It's across the southwest, so Portugal, Spain, much of France has been very wet for the last few days.

Now as we head nearer to the weekend, it's not actually looking as bad. And so I can show you that if you are heading to London or Paris, you will be, in fact, treated to some pretty good sunshine for the next few days, but you will also notice those temperatures are really beginning to fall.

And certainly as we head out from there across into Innsbruck in Australia and of course across to Geneva in Switzerland, it's a very unsettled picture Saturday and Sunday. And look at these temperatures. It doesn't start out too badly on Friday, 75 in Innsbruck. By Sunday, the daytime high is only 50. It's going to be cloudy, lots of rain. I tell you what, you're going to definitely need to start thinking about actually checking that luggage in. No longer can you just take on your carry on because you're going to need a few extra layers now as we head on through autumn.

Milan and Venice, too, rather well. As Carol was just saying, Italy is one of her favorite destinations, and certainly one of mine. Milan and Venice, we got some mixed weather, I would say. And in fact in Venice on Saturday and Sunday, we could even see some thunderstorms mixed in with all this rain. Temperatures not too bad, but I'm afraid it's going to be a bit of a wet trip.

So, Carol, perhaps Italy is not your best bet for this weekend, but I'm sure the sunshine will return at some point.

COSTELLO: Yes, but somehow Rome in the rain wouldn't seem that bad to me.

HARRISON: No, exactly. Just quite romantic, actually, isn't it?

COSTELLO: Yes. I can't think about that because I won't be able to finish the rest of the show.

Thank you, Jenny, we appreciate it.
