CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We are going to head live to California now because Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken the podium. There have been new serious allegations against him in groping women in the "L.A. Times." Let's hear what he has to say.
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER (R), CALIFORNIA GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE: ... a lot of those, what you are seeing in the stories is not true. But, at the same time, I have to tell you that I always say, wherever there is smoke, there is fire. That is true.

And so what I want to say to you is that, yes, I have behaved badly sometimes. Yes, it is true, that I was on rowdy movie sets and I have done things that were not right which I thought then was playful, but now I recognize that I have offended people. And those people that I have offended, I want to say to them, I am deeply sorry about that and I apologize, because this is not what I tried to do.

When I am governor, I want to prove to the women that I will be a champion for the women. And I hope that you will give me the chance to prove that. Now, let's go from the dirty politics back to the future of California.

Let me tell you, this is what this bus tour is all about. We are going to from San Diego to to Orange County, from San Bernadino, San Gabriel, Santa Tarita (ph), Bakersfield, Fresno, Modesto, Alameda, and all the way up to Sacramento to make sure that we get that message out there, the message of what Gray Davis has done to this state in the last five years.

Look what he has done. He has torn down the economy; our economy is spiraling downward. People are losing jobs, businesses are being chased out of the state, and jobs are being chased out of the state. In the last two years, we have lost over 300,000 manufacturing jobs.

There are a million people waiting for jobs in this state. Those are people that have not only lost their jobs, but they're seeing the American dream slipping away from them. We want to...

COSTELLO: All right. We're going to break away from this right now. You have been hearing Arnold Schwarzenegger speaking in San Diego to a room full of his supporters. Candy Crowley is amongst them somewhere -- not that she is a supporter, mind you, but hopefully we will get to her in just a second.

Some serious allegations against Arnold Schwarzenegger in the "L.A. Times" today. Six women claiming that Schwarzenegger groped them, and they're pretty disgusting allegations.

We're going to get more on that when we have it and when we find Candy Crowley in that crowd of people. But, again, that was Arnold Schwarzenegger saying, don't believe everything you read in the newspaper.
