ANDREA KOPPEL, CNN ANCHOR: Magician Roy Horn remains hospitalized in critical condition two days after he was attacked on stage by a white tiger. The "Siegried and Roy Show" has been canceled indefinitely.
Our Miguel Marquez is in Las Vegas and joins me now live with an update. Miguel, is Roy out of the woods at this moment or is he still, you know, in a very critical situation?

MIGUEL MARQUEZ, CNN CORRESPONDENT: I would like to be able to say that he is out of the woods, but unfortunately we're not quite hearing that although we are hearing a little bit more hope today. You know, certainly yesterday there was no sign of hope there, was just a lot of long faces here in Las Vegas.

Today there is a little uptick in the hope factor. Mainly because people here say that Roy Horn is communicating. Though they're not saying exactly what that means.

Two days ago he turned 59, and two days ago he was also attacked by one of his famed white tigers while on stage. About 45 minutes into their act here in Las Vegas. He celebrated his birthday the day before. We have some video here that you might be looking at of that birthday celebration.

Bernie Yuman, the long-time manager for Siegfried & Roy, came to the hospital just a few moments ago. He's known these guys for 28 years, an amazing career together they've had. And he expounded a little bit on the communication factor, but he wouldn't go much farther than to say that there's simply communicating.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BERNIE YUMAN, SIEGFRIED & ROY'S MANAGER: He has communicated with me.

MARQUEZ: In what sense?

YUMAN: We are communicating.

MARQUEZ: You've talked to him? He's speaking?

YUMAN: We are communicating.

MARQUEZ: Physically? Verbally? I'm not sure what you mean by...

YUMAN: At the end of the day that's all I have to say, is that he and I are in direct communication.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MARQUEZ: Now, the concern out there is that we understand through the Associated Press that Roy is on a ventilator, essentially life support and is heavily sedated, so we're not entily sure what they mean by communicating.

The other thing is that Mr. Yuman said he would be here all day with him although a few minutes ago he left with Jeffrey Katzenberg, who runs Dreamworks Studio out of Los Angeles.

A lot of big celeBrities coming in here to see Roy and how he's doing. And so far there seems to be no real sign of hope. Andrea, back to you.

KOPPEL: Okay, Miguel Marquez joining us there in Las Vegas. Thank you very much.
