BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Back to Fairfax. We've got our problems fixed. Questions now to the police chief in Fairfax.
(JOINED IN PROGRESS)

CHIEF TOM MANGER, FAIRFAX COUNTY POLICE: ... abduction and robbery as well.

QUESTION: (OFF-MIKE).

MANGER: A great job by the Carteret Police Department in New Jersey, yes.

QUESTION: Were they on the lookout specifically for those men? Had you sent out an alert?

MANGER: Yes, the lookout for the individuals that we wanted in this case, the picture that we had from the bank surveillance video, as well as the description of the car and the fact that the car was stolen, all of that information was given nationwide. And, in fact, my understanding is that the initial reason for the stop in New Jersey was that the officers noted -- ran the tag of the car and found that it was stolen.

QUESTION: We understand these suspects were found in a known drug area. Do (UNINTELLIGIBLE)...

MANGER: I don't have that information at this point.

QUESTION: Can you talk about the -- one of the suspects drove the car into a body of water. Can you elaborate on that? Are we talking about a creek?

MANGER: I believe it was a creek. Again, that information is very sketchy at this point, but I believe it was a creek.

QUESTION: Was there any kind of a high-speed chase at all? And what kind of pursuit was it?

MANGER: I don't know the details of the pursuit other than there was -- one of the police vehicles was rammed by the Monte Carlo before the chase ended, and, as I said, one of the suspects, who was driving, suffered a broken leg during the pursuit.

HEMMER: All right, we're listening to the police chief down in Fairfax, Virginia. I'll try and update you on what's happening right now. Two days ago on Tuesday, Kathleen Gregg, the wife of New Hampshire Senator Judd Gregg, was abducted, taken to an ATM, forced to withdraw money. She gave that cash apparently to two men.

And there are two suspects in custody right now being held for questioning, but have not been charged or even confirmed to be related to this abduction. The questioning continues right now.

We do know the suspects are wanted in other cases. So, as soon as we can get more from the police in Fairfax, we'll bring it to you.
