CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: In Eagle, Colorado, a very messy beginning in the sexual assault case against Kobe Bryant. A sheriff's detective who interviewed Bryant's accuser told her story. During cross-examination, Bryant's defense attorney angered the judge. Pamela Mackey asked if the woman's injuries would be consistent with someone who had sex with three different men in three days.
CNN's Adrian Baschuk is covering the case in Eagle, Colorado.

ADRIAN BASCHUK, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): The lone witness in Thursday's hearing was an Eagle County detective who interviewed the accuser the day after the alleged incident happened. His testimony alleges Bryant initiated sexual intercourse after she willfully entered his hotel room, willfully kissed him, but she told Bryant to stop repeatedly.

Also brought to light were accusations that Bryant put two hands around her neck. However, in the defense's cross-examination, the detective testified not seeing any marks the next day.

Bryant's defense has remained the same since his arrest.

KOBE BRYANT, L.A. LAKERS: I didn't force her to do anything against her will. I am innocent.

BASCHUK: In that time, the Lakers No. 8 has tried keeping his focus on the basketball court with his teammates in Hawaii, away from the Colorado courtroom he was in Thursday.

BRYANT: People think like a seven game (ph) is pressure. You kidding me?

BASCHUK: Bryant faces possible life in prison accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old on June 30. The prosecution says evidence against him includes photographs of the woman after the incident and audio tapes of Bryant the next day.

(on camera): So, if the intense media spotlight wasn't glaring enough, well it will remain on for the next six days while we wait and speculate to see whether or not Kobe Bryant's case will in fact go to trial.

Reporting in Eagle County, Colorado, Adrian Baschuk, CNN.
