CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: The Bohannon family are part of. Join us now as they prepare to say good-bye to Dustin there on the right. Again, Lisa Bohannon is Dustin's stepmom. Good morning to the both of you.
Dustin, what are your final thoughts here as your time is winding down? How do you feel about going back? I know you felt pretty patriotic when you were talking with Brian?

PFC DUSTIN BOHANNON, U.S. ARMY: I don't even know yet. I really don't want to say good-bye just yet. But, you know, I guess the I get back over there the sooner I'll be back here.

LIN: Now what are you going to be doing? What is your mission when you go back? Do you know?

D. BOHANNON: I don't know. As far as I know, it's probably the same thing I was doing before I left.

LIN: Which was?

D. BOHANNON: Patrols, gate guard, and that was pretty much about all I was doing.

LIN: Lisa, I'm sure you still see the news reports. Almost daily there are reports of U.S. soldiers injured or killed. What are some of your thoughts as you start to prepare to wave good-bye to Dustin?

LISA BOHANNON, DUSTIN'S STEPMOTHER: I don't want him to go back. It's been a wonderful visit. We wouldn't trade it for the world, but we're very scared.

LIN: How do you deal with those feelings? How do you deal with those feelings, Lisa? Do you not watch the news? Do you find yourself addicted to the news?

L. BOHANNON: You don't really watch the news as much. I read the paper. I do tune in and try to catch a lot of it. But it's too scary. You put it at the back of your mind and you just try not to think about it. And I just -- I know that Dustin is a smart young man and he's just going to do the best he can to watch his back.

LIN: Dustin, have you not about -- I don't know how this part of your tour of duty is going to be different now that you know you have the experience behind you and you're going back? D. BOHANNON: Yes, like I said, I pretty much know what I'm doing when I'm getting back, but it's not going to be much of a surprise. I'll know what to expect. I already know the people there, the environment. So it's not as scary going back this time.

LIN: Dustin, you are pretty creative about surprising your girlfriend, Chelsea, when you came back. You snuck up on her. We have some video of that when she was at a football game. There she is jumping on you. Talk about -- you probably scared the bejesus out of her.

D. BOHANNON: Yes.

L. BOHANNON: Everyone thinks that was a wonderful moment.

LIN: Hey, Dustin. You know, we're waiting for the marriage proposal.

L. BOHANNON: No, no, no.

LIN: You're only 20. You have a lot of time to think about that. But I'm glad you had such a great time and we wish you all the best and hopefully we'll catch up with you either while you're over there or maybe the next time you get leave or come back for good. All right? Dustin Bohannon, good luck to you out there. Lisa, hang tough. Thanks so much for joining us.
