BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Time to check in with our favorite guy on the toys, Andy Serwer, with some cool toys that may be hot for the 2003 season.
ANDY SERWER, "FORTUNE" MAGAZINE: They're hot. They're hot.

HEMMER: Yes?

SERWER: Yes, yes. I am the toy meister of this program. Sorry, Jack.

There are only 76 shopping days until x-mas. Shopping days and days are the same thing. Shopping days is an antiquated term when people used to not shop on Sundays, but they do now.

I want to talk about some of the hot toys. Back to basics is the theme this year, and we're going to start off with Barbie, Mattel. Yes, it's the oven. I like the Easy Bake. Who can forget?

HEMMER: Yes.

SERWER: This is probably a variation on that theme. OK, how about Bratz? You know those dolls? The Bratz dolls? I don't like them too much. They drive my wife insane, but kids like them. This is the Runway Disco with the motorized runway.

Next we go on to my favorite, I want this, the McFlurry maker from McDonalds. That I want. I want that. I love it.

HEMMER: Just as long as it works.

SERWER: Yes, it works.

HEMMER: If it's a good one.

SERWER: Oh, yes, it works. It will make you a McFlurry. Why not?

And now I want to talk about the biggest hit so far this year apparently, which are Mighty Beans. Mighty Beans, let me show you some Mighty Beans here, OK?

HEMMER: How about it?

SERWER: Hang on. They're coming. These are -- they're sort of like little Mexican jumping beans. They have ball bearings in them. They come with these little things here. I've been walking around my house doing this for days. Can you imagine that?

HEMMER: Yes?

SERWER: Can you imagine...

HEMMER: It's like the Weebles Wobble, huh?

SERWER: Yes, it's sort of like that, but they're like Mexican jumping beans.

JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: How much does that cost?

SERWER: Jack, it's a bargain, $6 for six of them. And they've got little names, and you collect them. It's kind of manipulative, because you've got to get them, and some of them are rare. You know, it's a whole thing. I've got -- this one's for Jack. That's Sheriff Bean. Pass that down to Jack.

HEMMER: Because you are the sheriff.

SERWER: The Pop Star Bean for Soledad. This is Pop Star Bean. And then kill bill -- no, Bloodthirsty Bean for you.

HEMMER: Yes, sure.

CAFFERTY: Six dollars for six little ball bearings in some capsules.

HEMMER: Thank you, Andy.

SERWER: Toy companies know how to make money, Jack.

CAFFERTY: What a rip-off.

HEMMER: What's inside here?

CAFFERTY: Can we do three...

(CROSSTALK)

SERWER: Ball bearings. Look at that. This...

CAFFERTY: Look, a threesome.

SERWER: This woman has talent.

O'BRIEN: In tandem.

SERWER: Not only a TV anchor, but a mighty Beans expert.

O'BRIEN: If this whole TV thing doesn't work out...

HEMMER: You're on, girl.

(CROSSTALK)

HEMMER: The markets quickly yesterday. Decent?

SERWER: A good day. We were way up in the morning, but we still ended up pretty well on the Dow, and this morning futures are up as well. Little questions from General Electric this morning. They're warning about their business, but futures are still up so far.

HEMMER: Nice, OK. I'll keep my ball bearing.

SERWER: Get your bean going.

HEMMER: Thank you, Andy.

SERWER: All right.
