BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: One of our other top stories this morning from Pennsylvania, the search is over today. Questions, though, and a lot of them still remain. Murder suspect Hugo Selenski escaping from jail last week back behind bars today after eluding law enforcement for about four days.
CNN's Deborah Feyerick live in Pennsylvania for more this morning -- Deborah, good morning there.

DEBORAH FEYERICK, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Bill.

Well, the fugitive called his lawyer at about 7:45 last night. He said that he was sitting on his living room couch and he was ready to turn himself in. First, he told the lawyer, though, there were several conditions. He assured the lawyer that he had no weapons. He said he wanted the lawyer present. Instead of 50 officers turning up on his doorstep, he wanted only two. And he said that he wanted authorities to have no media contact until after he was in custody.

The lawyer says Hugo Selenski was calm when he spoke to him on the phone and then calm when he walked from the house he shares with his girlfriend.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DEMETRIUS FANNICK, HUGO SELENSKI'S ATTORNEY: As we approached the house, Mr. Selenski exited the front door with his hands raised and stayed on the front porch. The state trooper in the front car got out of his car, asked Mr. Selenski to step down from the porch into the driveway, which he did. He was then asked to kneel down, which he did, and he was placed into custody, handcuffed and put in the police car.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

FEYERICK: Selenski was on the run for three days, the target of a statewide manhunt that included law enforcement authorities from many agencies, including the U.S. Marshals. Selenski and his cellmate on Friday pulled out a window from their maximum security floor. They shimmied down 12 bed sheets that had been tied together and made their way out of the prison.

The cellmate did fall, injuring himself critically. No reason as to why Selenski escaped in the first place -- Bill.

HEMMER: Deborah, thanks.

Deborah Feyerick on the scene there in Pennsylvania, as she has since the beginning on that story.
