DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: The U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv is advising all U.S. citizens to leave Gaza. The warning comes after a deadly bombing strikes an embassy convoy and kills at least three Americans.
Let's get the latest on this developing story.

Our Chris burns is in Jerusalem -- Chris.

CHRIS BURNS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Daryn, we're now inside Gaza.

We've just come inside the Gaza Strip. We've heard just now from reporters at scene that they have been stoned by some hundreds of people who are there watching the situation. This bombing happened this morning. According to sources on the ground, there were Palestinian police who were escorting four -- three vehicles with U.S. officials inside.

After the Palestinian police passed a certain point, the explosion went off destroying -- completely destroying the first vehicle in the convoy. In fact, we are standing right next to that vehicle, what's left of it, as it's being taken out of the Gaza Strip. It is just twisted shards of metal of a Chevrolet SUV. In fact, the engine is sitting separately away from it. It is completely, completely destroyed. That bombing has been no responsibility, but there is a denial from the Hamas militants. They say that they didn't do it.

Here is some Israeli reaction to what happened.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

RA'ANAN GISSIN, SENIOR SHARON ADVISER: Had the Palestinian authority and its leaders would implement the necessary reforms, which they accepted, of unifying the security services, of wrenching control, from taking it away from Yasser Arafat, and taking the necessary measures to dismantle the terrorist organization as required, this attack would not have taken place.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

BURNS: This attack having killed, according to U.S. officials, three Americans, injured -- seriously injured another. Those who were hurt or killed belonged to a private security contractor that was guarding those U.S. officials. The investigation had begun today. An FBI car went there. They came under a rain of stones. They were forced to leave. So very tense there at the scene, even just now.

Back to you, Daryn.

KAGAN: All right, Chris Burns, thank you for that.
