CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Satellite, cable, satellite, cable, drives you crazy, doesn't it? So it's time for 'Dollars & Deals.' And this morning, consumer guru Clark Howard has some money-saving advice for anyone who turns on the tube.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

CLARK HOWARD, CONSUMER ADVOCATE: Today's question is from Mitch in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You want to know satellite versus cable TV, which one is the winner?

Well that depends. If you love television, if you really like to watch the box, then absolutely, positively, without question you want satellite TV. You're going to get a better picture, you're going to get more channels, you're going to have a lower cost. And based on surveys that have been done over the years, you're going to find much better customer service from the satellite company than you're ever going to get from the cable company.

As what it's going to cost you for satellite, here is the funny thing. So many people go to satellite to save money, but by the time they buy package after package after package, their bill goes up because it's so tempting. You get so many choices with satellite.

The next choice with satellite that's already starting to appear in the marketplace but it's very expensive right now are high definition satellite systems. Even if you already have satellite, you have to buy new equipment in order to be able to get high def signals. I would give that one one more year before you do it.

But the choice, hands down, satellite beats cable any day.

(END VIDEOTAPE)

COSTELLO: So you don't have to worry anymore.

Clark returns next Friday with more 'Dollars & Deals.' You can e-mail us your consumer questions, just visit our Web site, CNN.com/DAYBREAK. In the meantime, you can get Clark's money-saving tips on the Web. The address there, ClarkHoward.com.
