CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: OK, let's head to Iraq to get more now on those raids aimed at finding the people responsible for a gunfight that left three U.S. soldiers and two Iraqi police officers dead.
Live to Karbala and Jane Arraf -- good morning, Jane.

JANE ARRAF, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Carol.

Well, U.S. officials have vowed to crack down on renegade Shia militias after the killing of Lieutenant Colonel Kim Orlando. The pilot of the U.S. military police killed in a gunfight along with two other U.S. military policemen on Friday.

Now, they took a step towards that in a raid on a mosque. This mosque across town from where those killings took place. They burst in before dawn, as a curfew was imposed, rounded up 21 people and took them away. Now, these were followers of Muqtada al-Sadr. Sadr is a radical young cleric, 30 years old, who has declared an Islamic state. The U.S. has threatened to arrest him.

So far it hasn't gone after him, but it has taken a step towards rounding up some (AUDIO GAP) say they are causing problems, creating trouble and they're possibly planning attacks -- Carol.
