Will Britney's New Video Have Any Talent or Just Skin, Again?

DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: You're getting a peek a little bit of what you can expect tonight when MTV unveils the show "Making the Video" from the latest Britney Spears video. The pop princess has stepped out of the spotlight for awhile but she is back with a little help from her famous friend.
For more on the new Britney, we are joined in New York by Suchin Pak of MTV News. Good morning. Good to have you here with us.
SUCHIN PAK, MTV NEWS: Thank you so much.
KAGAN: So you have seen the video.
PAK: Yes, I've seen the video.
KAGAN: How hot is it?
PAK: It's pretty steamy. You get Madonna and Britney in a room, put maybe some sort of bed situation in there. There's a little bit of, you know, little bit of S&M, little bit of kind of close to what they did on the VMA stage. You pretty much can't get any hotter than just having these two blonde icons in a room together.
So they kind of did push the envelope. Very sort of teasing and sense wall. It's a great, fun video.
KAGAN: Was this put together before the MTV Video Music Awards when we saw the kiss?
PAK: No. No. They just -- I think they just taped the video in October, I believe. So it was after the kiss.
KAGAN: So they saw what a big reaction they got. This might take at this time next step there.
PAK: And they do sort of kind of refer to the kiss, or spoof the kiss. It comes really close. You'll see in the video. It's definitely going to get people to drop their jaws a bit.
KAGAN: So is this so steamy, is that why it this show has to be on at 11:00 at night?
PAK: Yes, it is pretty steamy. I think anything Britney does, especially after the slew of photo covers and the kind of scantly clad, you know, photo spreads that she's done lately, you can only expect that she's going to be steamy in this one. Her in live action. So you get a little sexier. KAGAN: And she does in the special talk about working with Madonna. I think we have a little bit of that. Here's Britney in working with Madonna.

BRITNEY SPEARS, ENTERTAINER: This is my first time to ever do a collaboration. And it's with Miss Madonna herself.
I was in the middle of rehearsals for the VMAs. And I played her the song. And she's like, That's your first single, right? I was like, Yeah, hopefully. She's like, I really like it. I was like, Really? Well do you want to do it with me? She said, yeah.

KAGAN: Well like that was really deep right there.
Suchin, we've been getting e-mail from our viewers all day. We have a new e-mail address, daryn@CNN.com. And Jason wrote in this about Britney. he said, "If Britney could actually sing then maybe she would be able to sell songs rather than her body. It's tough out there, though. I'm sure it's all necessary. Give me a break!"
You know people -- some people are over this whole Britney thing.
PAK: Over the Britney thing. You know what? It's interesting. When I sat down with her, I asked her that question. You've taken a break. Are you afraid that you're going to come back and is anyone going to care that there's another Britney album coming out?
But this album, I heard it. I have to say people are definitely going to talk. I don't know if they're going to care as much but they are absolutely going to talk. It's extremely sexual, very overtly, it's sort of the new Britney, the less virginal Britney, as I should put it.
KAGAN: From previous interview, we know that's been taken care of, too, we should just say.
Anyhow, that will be on tonight 11:00 P.M., MTV. Whether people like it or not, we'll have to wait and see but they will be talking. Thanks for talking about it early with us, about 12 hours early. Appreciate it. Thank you very much.
