SOLEDAD O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: Let's go back to our top story this morning, the California wildfires, where we are getting some very dramatic pictures of the fire from San Bernardino County.
Miguel Marquez is in Rimforest, which is east of Los Angeles, in the San Bernardino National Forest.

Miguel, thanks for joining us once again. The pictures we're seeing, tell me exactly what we are looking at, where -- how close that is to where you are?

MIGUEL MARQUEZ: Well, they're not very far. I can -- I can actually show you exactly where they are. The fire right down there, Soledad, that is the fire that is destroying those homes in Rimforest. We are right north of Rimforest, which is north of San Bernardino, California, up in the National Forest here about 4,700 feet up. Those homes, Stringer (ph) shot them earlier this morning. He thought between 12 and 20 homes had gone up in the Rimforest area already on this fire.

The winds are flowing pretty briskly out of the north-northeast and blowing that fire downhill. But the concern for firefighters is that in the afternoon it's going to bring the onshore from the ocean back to us and the fire will start racing uphill and not only Rimforest then will be in trouble, but other communities north of Rimforest and north of where we are, so on the other side of the road from where we are.

In fact, there's already one place that we have seen down the way here where it has jumped the road. And firefighters are trying to hold it at now a second roadway as their, hopefully, last line of defense before this thing really takes off into several more communities -- Soledad.

O'BRIEN: All right. Miguel Marquez, it's looking terrible. Thanks for that update. We will continue to check in with you throughout the morning.
