CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: And we did get word overnight that two more U.S. soldiers have been killed north of Baghdad, another deadly booby-trap planted on the road.
Let's head live to Baghdad now and Ben Wedeman for an update.

Hello -- Ben.

BEN WEDEMAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hello, Carol.

Yes, that attack took place on a night of a variety of attacks across Iraq. In this case, two soldiers from the 1st Armored Division or rather Infantry Division were killed and one wounded when their Abrams tank drove over some sort of explosive device. Now this is the first incident since the end of the war in April in which a tank has been disabled in a combat incident.

Also, now at this point, the number of soldiers killed in combat in Iraq totals 117. That is two more than the 115 who were killed during the major combat operations phase that ended, according to President Bush, on the 1st of May. At this point, the total combat deaths for U.S. troops in Iraq totaling 232 -- Carol.

COSTELLO: Ben Wedeman reporting live for us from Baghdad this morning.
